Em Perks is the creative force behind Black Feenix Creative, bringing decades of experience, instinct and curiosity to everything she designs.

Her love affair with all things arty and graphicy began at high school and quickly turned serious. After gaining an apprenticeship at a local print house in 1997, Emma went on to achieve an HND in Graphic Design, building a solid foundation in design, pre-press and production. Over the years, her career naturally evolved into more marketing-led and strategic creative roles, blending visual flair with commercial understanding.

Alongside hands-on industry experience, Emma also gained qualifications to teach Graphic Design at higher education level. This sharpened her ability to explain, guide and collaborate, skills that now sit at the heart of how she works with clients.

Emma is a passionate supporter of charity and community projects, believing strongly in using creativity as a force for good. She is also a keen traveller and a qualified, insured travel consultant. Just another string to her bow and proof that curiosity never really switches off.

Away from the screen, she is married to a talented caterer who runs a small, successful catering business and yes, she will happily recommend him if you need feeding. More recently, Emma has also developed a love for personalised artwork, creating bespoke pieces for homes, from quirky and cute illustrations to detailed, realistic pet portraits.

At her core, Emma is a genuinely creative person who loves to be busy, thrives on collaboration and brings warmth, confidence and care to everything she does. If it involves ideas, people and making something better than it was before, she’s probably already interested.
